2. In short

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services, and loads its fonts from our own server. We process personal data only as far as needed to deliver the website, when you play a video, or when you contact us.

This statement covers fadenstack.com and the documentation at help.fadenstack.com and developers.fadenstack.com. Fadenstack software runs on our users' own servers; the agents get their own privacy statement with the first release.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vyronos, CY-6023 Larnaca in the European Union, under a data processing agreement according to Art. 28 GDPR.

When you open a page, the server processes your IP address to deliver it. The access log keeps the IP address only shortened (for IPv4 without the last byte, for IPv6 only the first three groups), plus date and time, the address requested, the status code, the amount of data sent, the referring page and your browser's identifier. When an error occurs while delivering a page, the server's error log records the full IP address.

We do this to run the website securely and reliably, for example to find errors and attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Both logs are deleted after 14 days.

4. Storage in your browser

When you switch between the light and dark theme, your browser stores your choice in local storage (key fs-theme; in the documentation also the view you chose). It never leaves your device. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you asked for (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it in your browser at any time.

5. Videos from YouTube

Videos on this website load only when you press play; until then no connection to YouTube is made. After the click your browser loads the player from youtube-nocookie.com. YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) then receives your IP address and which video you play on which page, and may use cookies or similar technologies. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The legal basis is the consent you give with the click (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it for the future at any time by reloading the page. More: Google's privacy policy.

Videos we host ourselves load from our server, and section 3 applies.

6. Contacting us

When you write to us by email or through the contact form on emagin8.de, we process your details to answer. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where a contract or its preparation is concerned, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the details once the request is settled and no legal retention period applies.

7. Links to other websites

This website links to GitHub, among others. The other provider's privacy terms apply only once you follow such a link.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time for the future (Art. 7(3)).
